She was the youngest girl to win a medal at the Global X Games and competed with females more than twice her age. This 12-year-old Mesa girl is a thrill seeking skateboarder.
Alana Smith hits the half-pipe and can board all day. She loves the extreme sport of skateboarding, and that love is exactly what’s fueled her to professional competition.
“My dad was mad about mom sneaking me here cause he wanted me to be one of those girlie girl kind of princess and I was nothing like that,” says Alana.
Alana is one of the youngest X Game competitors in the extreme sport of skateboarding. She started at 7 years old, and now 5 years later, here she is competing in Barcelona in the Global X Games.
